Hi, I’m Kevin.

I started my freelance journey at the beginning of 2021, after the diabolical year we had in 2020. I was a wannabe content writer, (that grew into copywriting and ghostwriting) I started out on my freelancing journey, I’ve got to a point I’ve realized the business model isn’t for me. I want more. And I want less.

Here you will find all my research, writing and all that jazz, unfiltered and un-optimised.

Its where there is no algorithm to kick my content in the nuts every time they decide to roll out some fancy “update” that pushes all mine and your content to the bottom of the social media feed, after we’ve slaved so hard to get visible.

Nope… its all my best stuff served up fresh and feisty.

Why the new blog?

Since the beginning of 2021 I’ve been exclusively writing content on LinkedIn, with a few one night stands with X and Substack, and most recently Bluesky.

And to be honest, I’ve been yin yanging, jumping back and forth wondering where the best place would be to invest in to showcase my writing.

I’ve been aganizing for ages, and after much reading, pondering, and random eureka moments, I’m convinced its not any of these social media platforms.

Why?

Because they all take our content, and use it to build their gigantic mega media empires.

And if you haven’t realised it yet, every social media company needs your content to be able to profit, because without your content, they don’t have a platform worth a dime.

That’s because content is the commodity they trade in…

The flow of content, is what creates cashflow for them.

Your content, words, photos, videos and your behaviour online tells them exactly what you like and are most likely to buy, and they sell that data to make profit..

And with AI feeding off everything in the digital world, you are feeding the machine directly with your hard work so other people can create better content based on your content…

Do I hate social media?

Nope, I actually think social media is the best place to get started at build anything from a business, a new career or an audience.

Are you up for a challenge?

Whether you’ve been procrastinating, fantasising or just been too busy to give a damn, perhaps its time you take a moment to reflect on what you doing with your content, where you creating, and what you are building.

Now consider the benefits of building your own content house, on your own soil, and owning one hundred percent of what you do, no algos messing with your reach, and forcing you to pay dollars to get seen.

Personally, I’m done with flirting with platforms, social media is a place to get seen, that’s it, get seen, gather an audience and get them on your email list, and over to your website, digital products and whatever else.

Its a subtle mindset change, but it will forever change how you create, and distribute your content.

Are you ready to build your blog?

Good luck!
